About Ck2 Inc.

We understand that learning can be vulnerable, and we honour the parts of your story that have brought you to us.

We foster compassion, connection, and understanding in our learning environment, and that’s exactly what you’ll get from us.

You can accomplish everything you set your mind to – if your brain is equipped to keep up with your ambition.

Meet Our Founder

Karen Cameron Friesen

B.Ed, MA, ARCT
Executive Director
Lead Arrowsmith Teacher

“I’ll help you help yourself create a life where you’re not restricted by your brain’s inefficiencies.”

Karen is an educator, with a Bachelor’s in Education and Master of Arts with a specialization in English instruction, and a licensed provider of the Arrowsmith Program.

As an educator and a parent of a child with additional learning needs, I hear you.

Despite all our professional diagnoses, we were left searching for lasting answers.

I wanted to help my son today, and clear a path for a promising life. I refused to accept that this was where it ended for my son’s abilities. I knew he was capable of more – we just needed the tools to get there.

After endless appointments and “This is how it will always be conversations, it seemed like our answer wasn’t out there.

We needed more than a pile of resources and yet another referral. What we needed were real solutions.

When we found the Arrowsmith Program, the results were so profound that I needed to share with others.

My heart for advocacy and leaning towards administration were advantageous.

I became a licensed Arrowsmith provider, and continue to help individuals thrive.

Since being told that he had severe learning difficulties, my son put in the work with the Arrowsmith Program.

He’s now opening doors to his exciting future as a full scholarship student athlete.

As a parent, I’m beyond thrilled for him, and I want the same for you.

He bought a bike because he really enjoys his rides, and he’s reading and working with his tools again. This has such a good effect on life overall. His social skills are improving and he's making new friends!

Our life has improved so much, and become more relaxed.”

“I continue to see improvements! Even our friends have noticed.

MEET OUR TEAM

Lani van Rooyen

Private Certification, NCHM
Lead Arrowsmith At-Home Teacher

Lani enjoyed tutoring and training abroad in the fashion design and hospitality industries.

After her toddler was brain injured, she dedicated herself to learning more about the science behind special needs and learning disabilities.

Lani is our lead online Arrowsmith teacher, and knows there’s nothing sweeter than supporting families and strengthening brains. She’s full of joy, incredibly insightful, and a gold star teacher in our books.

Julia Phillips

Program Assistant

A creative from day one, Julia can’t help but jump into places where her innovation meets relationship building – which is why she’s a fantastic fit for us here.

Julia keeps things rolling behind the scenes, including all things administration, keeping us relevant on social media, and student support. Her five years directing a summer camp in Manitoba’s Interlake and work as an Educational Assistant means she’s well practiced in encouraging and empowering young people, and finding ways to get them involved in art projects as often as possible.

Off the clock, you’ll find her sewing, knitting, or making chain maille.

Hold your focus, keep your cool, and prove your limitations wrong.

We’ll do it together.
